US Regents Make Education a Political Issue

US Regents Make Education a Political IssueIn the US senate, there are now four senators who have a background in law or medicine. Each of these US Regents of the University of California colleges now serves as an example of the radical change in the US in recent years. These four senators are Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Amy Klobuchar, John Kerry and Barbara Boxer. If the Senator from Maryland is no longer the majority leader or the sitting president, she still sits on the bench and wields control over the US Senate. Her seat in the US Senate of California has been occupied by the new president of the United States. With each seat held by a political individual, is the perception of increasing power given to their personal body? This belief is in direct contrast to the US president who has never once sat on the US senate. The same person who has been appointed to these seats represents the education community. The selection of these four individual senators is more about the ideologies and phi losophies of each individual than their educational backgrounds. The other regents do not hold positions in academia and are widely respected in academia. These four senators share a love for civil rights, careerism, respect and support among the community in collegiate divisions. This is evident in the diversity of their colleges, which offer both on-campus and online degree programs. Many have reached out to each other for assistance with mutual goals of education. The diversity of their offices and senate legates is indicative of the common values shared by their political outlooks. The more Washington, DC devolves into political theater, the more the idealistic constituents lose sight of their common goal of education. The attempt to get every individual's two cents in the political process will continue until people realize that education is what theUS citizenry was founded upon. With many educational non-profits now floundering, the education system is once again becoming a vesse l for politics. The opportunity to further the ideals of education through political participation will lead to its continued survival. Furthermore, each of these senators are the only classically trained member of the US senate. The US Senate of California regents have shown their commitment to the welfare of their students by selecting individual champions of education. Their current experience with education can be a great educational resource for future generations.
